Dr. Sharini Carol Somasiri is a Professor in the Department of Animal and Food Sciences at the Faculty of Agriculture, Rajarata University of Sri Lanka. With a PhD in Veterinary and Animal Sciences from Massey University, New Zealand, Dr. Somasiri has extensive research experience in animal science, focusing on livestock farming systems, feed efficiency, and sustainable agricultural practices. Her work includes numerous publications in prestigious journals and conference proceedings. She has received various awards, including the National Research Council Merit Award and the Presidential Award for Scientific Publications. Dr. Somasiri actively supervises postgraduate research and has held leadership roles, including Head of the Department of Animal and Food Sciences. She is a member of several professional organizations, including the Sri Lanka Association of Animal Production and the New Zealand Society of Animal Production.

Dr. Nadeeshani Silva is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness at the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Ruhuna, Sri Lanka. She holds an MSc in Agricultural Economics, an MSc in Agribusiness Management, and a PhD in Natural Resource Management. Dr. Silva’s research interests focus on agricultural economics, innovation, and knowledge management, and she has contributed to numerous scholarly articles in these fields. In her academic role, she coordinates and lectures several courses, including Agricultural Development and Policy, Social Science Research Methods, Project Planning and Management, Extension Management, and Economic Impact Assessments. Through her work, Dr. Silva plays a significant role in advancing agricultural economics and agribusiness education and research in Sri Lanka.

She has a strong academic background in soil science, and she is committed to pushing the boundaries of understanding through rigorous research and innovative methodologies. Through her research findings to date, she has contributed to advance the scientific knowledge in the areas of soil carbon sequestration, soil pollution and remediation and soil fertility enrichment. She brings a unique blend of academic expertise and practical experience to research projects with beneficial community impacts. Her analytical skills, coupled with a collaborative mindset, have contributed to successful outcomes in diverse multidisciplinary teams. She has over 15 peer-reviewed articles published in renowned journals, showcasing a commitment to scholarly excellence and contribution to the scientific community. Currently she has a google h index of 10 with over 790 citations.
