Swaminathan memorial Awards

Dr. M. S. Swaminathan, a distinguished Indian geneticist and agricultural scientist, earned the well-deserved title of the “Father of the Green Revolution in India.” His groundbreaking contributions to crop improvement and sustainable farming practices had a profound impact on agriculture, significantly enhancing food production and improving the lives of numerous farmers.

Professor M. S. Swaminathan served as the Keynote Speaker at our 2nd edition of AGRICO, the Annual International Conference on Agriculture and Forestry in 2015 which marked a significant milestone. Prof. Swaminathan had been a lifelong advisor in agriculture conferences organized by TIIKM, and he graciously expressed his enthusiasm by offering an award named “Prof. Swaminathan’s Award” in future AGRICO Conferences.
Tragically, we bid farewell to Prof. M. S. Swaminathan in September 2023. To honor his lasting legacy, the “Memorial Award” continues to serve as a testament to his transformative influence on Indian agriculture. This esteemed recognition is dedicated to individuals who mirror Dr. Swaminathan’s unwavering commitment, innovation, and dedication, ensuring that his spirit lives on in those who strive for excellence in the field of agriculture.
